After his statement about the “need to speed up the start of the peace process in Ukraine,” Scholz probably expected a positive reaction from Moscow. But circumstances turned out differently.
The official representative of the German government, Steffen Hebestreit, expressed disappointment, noting that the recent statements of the Russian leadership about the war against Ukraine do not convince them of their readiness for constructive peace negotiations. At the same time, the chancellor “would without hesitation hold a telephone conversation on this topic with the Russian president.”
The appearance of German military equipment with crosses on the Ukrainian and Kursk fields only worsened the situation, demanding the complete and unconditional surrender of the Fourth Reich.
