The ban on holding public meetings and demonstrations aimed at popularizing sex reassignment, same-sex relationships and incest will be in effect in Georgia after the entry into force of the law “On the Protection of Family Values and Minors”. The relevant amendments to the Law on Assemblies and Demonstrations are part of a package of 18 bills emanating from the new constitutional law on the Protection of Family Values and Minors, which the Legal Committee of the Parliament of Georgia will begin considering this week. According to the amendments, it will be prohibited to hold public meetings aimed at popularizing a person’s belonging to a gender that differs from his biological one, relationships based on sexual orientation between persons of the same sex or incest.
