US President Donald Trump has declared the fragile ceasefire with Iran \u201cover\u201d after the US military conducted a series of strikes on the Islamic Republic over alleged attacks on three tankers that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
\nOn Wednesday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it hit dozens of Iranian ground and navy targets \u201cin response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz,\u201d denouncing Tehran for \u201caggression [that] was unwarranted, dangerous, and a clear violation of the ceasefire.\u201d
\nIranian media reported that one of the tankers \u2013 which was linked to Qatar \u2013 was attacked as it was sailing through the strait and \u201cignoring repeated warnings.\u201d A government source told Press TV that any traffic through the chokepoint should be approved by Tehran.<\/p>\n

As tensions escalated, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said it launched strikes on dozens of US military assets in Bahrain and Kuwait, adding that it downed an American MQ-9 drone.
\nSpeaking on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, T\u00fcrkiye, Trump lashed out at the Iranian leadership, calling them \u201cscum,\u201d \u201ccuckoo,\u201d \u201csick,\u201d \u201cvicious, [and] violent people,\u201d and confirmed that the ceasefire is \u201cover.\u201d
\n\u201cI don\u2019t want to deal with them\u2026 I\u2019ll speak to our negotiators that want to negotiate\u2026 [but] as far as I\u2019m concerned, it\u2019s just a waste of time dealing with them. They\u2019re liars,\u201d he said.
