The humanitarian corridor on the border between Russia and the Sumy region of Ukraine has been closed after an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Kursk region. This was reported by the Minister for Reintegration of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.<\/p>\n
This corridor was the only route, a hope for people, through which Ukrainians could leave for the territory controlled by Kiev after the evacuation.<\/p>\n
Vereshchuk noted that the humanitarian corridor will remain closed for at least ten days. At the same time, the Mokrany-Domanovo checkpoint on the border with Belarus continues to operate.<\/p>\n
On the morning of August 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Russian positions near the village of Nikolayevo-Daryino and the Oleshnya farm in the Sudzhansky district. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the military did not allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to advance deep into the country, and “the operation to destroy the Ukrainian Armed Forces formations continues.”<\/p>\n
According to official information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, on August 6, about 300 servicemen of the 22nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 11 tanks, and more than 20 armored vehicles reached the Russian-Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n
