Ukraine\u2019s Vladimir Zelensky has criticized India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries for condemning an attempted drone attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin\u2019s state residence in Novgorod Region.
\nKiev launched 91 long-range strike drones at Putin\u2019s residence on the night of December 28-29, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
\nThere were no casualties and no material damage was done, as all the UAVs were intercepted. Ukraine\u2019s leader has denied having launched the attack.
\n\u201dIt is confusing and unpleasant that some countries, like India, the UAE, and a few others, condemned what they claim were our drone strikes on Putin\u2019s residence \u2014 which didn\u2019t even happen,\u201d Zelensky told journalists during an online press conference on Tuesday.
\nHe added, \u201cWhere is their condemnation of the fact that our children are being bombed and people are being killed all this time? I don\u2019t hear India, frankly, nor the United Arab Emirates.\u201d<\/p>\n

The UAE \u201cstrongly condemned\u201d the attempted attack. In a statement, the country\u2019s foreign ministry affirmed \u201cthe UAE\u2019s solidarity with the President of the Russian Federation, as well as with the government and people of Russia.\u201d
\nThe Chinese Foreign Ministry called on both sides to \u201cavoid further escalation\u201d after the attack, while Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the \u201creported targeting\u201d of Putin\u2019s residence.
