Venezuela has condemned the seizure of another oil tanker off its shores, accusing the US of carrying out an \u201cact of piracy\u201d as part of a broader campaign to overthrow the government in Caracas and seize the country\u2019s vast energy resources.
\nIn an official statement released on Saturday, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry denounced what it described as the \u201ctheft and hijacking\u201d of a private vessel transporting Venezuelan oil in international waters, and accused US military personnel of the \u201cforced disappearance\u201d of its crew.
\nCaracas said the seizure was not an isolated incident, but part of what it called a \u201ccolonialist model\u201d being imposed by Washington to strip Venezuela of its sovereignty and natural wealth.
