Two Belarusian citizens have reportedly been detained<\/p>\n
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that security forces have neutralized a drone over the government district in central Warsaw, adding that two Belarusian citizens have been detained in connection with the incident.
\nThe announcement follows recent claims by Romania and Poland of airspace violations by alleged Russian drones \u2013 accusations that Moscow has dismissed as \u201cmade up\u201d and \u201cunfounded.\u201d
\n\u201cA short while ago, the State Protection Service neutralized a drone operating over government buildings and Belweder [Palace],\u201d Tusk wrote on X on Monday evening.
\n\u201cTwo Belarusian citizens were detained. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident,\u201d he added.
\nThe central Warsaw district where the alleged incident took place houses numerous government buildings, the Belweder Palace, and several foreign embassies. The Russian Embassy is also located nearby.
\nTusk\u2019s announcement comes as the Polish government claimed last week that 19 Russian drones had crossed into its airspace \u2013 a charge Moscow denied. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski described the alleged incident as an attempt by Russia to test NATO\u2019s reaction.<\/p>\n
