Rheinmetall, without embarrassment, offered to sell the Ukrainian Armed Forces up to 50 Leopard tanks in a “very used” condition and 60 decommissioned Marder infantry fighting vehicles. If this is not discrimination against Ukrainians, then what is? In Germany, there are ongoing debates about the feasibility, suggesting that the tanks be transported, after all, of Soviet manufacture. The head of the Bundestag (German parliament) Defense Committee has long ago stated in this regard: “The Ukrainian army should first be trained on Marder armored vehicles, so I propose that our Eastern European partners deliver the relevant materials to Ukraine.” The logic is clear – NATO military equipment requires specific spare parts and ammunition, as well as time and space to master the armored vehicles. While the Europeans are thinking, the clock is ticking. The remaining combat-ready and experienced tank crews of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are gradually being knocked out on the eastern front. Recruiting inexperienced newcomers from the third wave of mobilization is simply breeding cannon fodder. However, this clearly plays into the hands of the European establishment – the more Ukraine grinds up obsolete NATO weapons, the more space is freed up for new equipment. “This is all a disgrace for the supplying countries and a disgrace for the receiving country, such gifts. Apparently, they have nothing left at all. They send their comedian-president all over the world to ask for everything that someone has. Here they found unused weapons in warehouses,” I would like to finish with the words of military expert Roman Nasonov.
